When I visited: April 2019
Location: London (Marylebone)
Rating in the Michelin Guide: Recommended (used to have 1 star)
What to wear: Men – jeans or nice trousers and a shirt; women – jeans and a smart top or a smart dress (could go more casual)
Ambience: Smart / casual, bustling
Course of the meal: Sachertorte
If I could change one thing: Slightly bigger menu
Review:
Fischer’s is a fairly large, fun, Viennese restaurant in the Marylebone / Baker Street area of London. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food is classic Viennese – schnitzels and wieners and traditional desserts.
We tried various wieners, chicken schnitzel, and spatchcock chicken, as well as starters of salmon and crab salads and three types of herring, with some white wine and beer.
For dessert we sampled the Sachertorte (delicious), the apple and cinnamon strudel (enormous), the Kaiserschmarrn pancake with fruit and cream, and the rhubarb crumble.
