When I visited: October 2017
Rating in the Michelin Guide: Recommended
What to wear: Could go casual
Ambience: Fun, relaxed
Course of the meal: Honey glazed pork
If I could change one thing: Ability to pick everything on the spot rather than pre-ordering
Char is a friendly Cantonsese restaurant in Singapore famed for its succulent meat dishes. You have to pre-order some of these when booking your table as they are cooked for so long.
In our case, we went for the honey glazed pork (amazing) and ‘premium’ pork as well as beef and chicken dishes. The garlic spinach and pumpkin and aubergine fried pieces were also really tasty. We had a lazy Susan spinning circle plate on our table which allowed us to place each sharing dish on the plate and spin it round so everyone on the table could reach everything in turn.
The restaurant has cute art on the walls as well, including a picture of a little girl approaching a huge pic with a knife and a sad face.
