Ding Dong … bells and bars

When I visited: October 2017

Location: Singapore, Amoy Street

Rating in the Michelin Guide: Not in Guide (used to be recommended)

Dining Owl Hoot rating: 3/5

What to wear: Could go casual

Ambience: Informal, fun

Course of the meal: Tuna loin

If I could change one thing: Don’t run out of the food we want

Review:

Ding Dong is a fun, Korean fusion restaurant where you can sit at the bar or on tables and ring the bell if you feel so inclined. The ’80s music is also a treat.

We ordered a selection of sharing plates – they were out of miso salmon (and the banana dessert that some of my fellow diners wanted) but we enjoyed the light scallop ceviche, duck rilettes, braised beef buns and especially the tender tuna loin. The dessert that I sampled was a Nutella chocolate parfait. The food was all generally good if not amazing, but the atmosphere is what makes this restaurant fun.
