If I could change one thing: Smaller desserts
Review:
Sometimes in Venice you just want to sit somewhere casual, ideally with a view of the canal, and sample one of Italy’s famous pizzas. Principessa, within the Savoia et Jolanda Hotel, is a good choice for these moments.
My partner Owl and I ordered a bottle of red Amarone (drawing a compliment from the waiter as it is a local wine) and enjoyed the tuna and Siciliana pizzas. Proper Italian pizzas are thin, very stretched, without too much tomato sauce and with delicious, fresh toppings, and these didn’t disappoint.
For dessert, we went for the fairly childish banana split (served in a boat with tons of cream and chocolate ice cream) and the Coppa Danimarca (‘Denmark’) with chocolate ice cream, cream and chocolate slivers.
Principessa is a solid central choice for a traditional holiday meal in Venice.
