Review:
I visited 2veneti with my partner Owl and some friends for a pre-Christmas meal. The staff were immediately friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was great. We shared red wine (Chianti Classico) and got a good free bread selection at the start of the meal (including doughy pizza bread and grissini).
My starter was the wild rocket, pear and parmesan salad with balsamic dressing, which was nicely balanced and quite light. The best course of the meal for me was the main – a beautifully soft and delicious sweet pumpkin and ricotta tortelloni with chestnut and malga cheese. Other mains around the table that received particular praise included the fresh pappardelle pasta with wild boar ragout cooked in tomato and red wine.
The desserts unfortunately didn’t quite live up to the standard of the previous courses, although my partner Owl did enjoy the pannetone. My flourless chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream was good, but not brilliant. However, any disappointment was at least partly alleviated by the free limoncello shots we got at the end … I LOVE that Italian tradition.
I would recommend this restaurant for a meal with friends or for a casual date.
