Duck and Waffle does not get as much buzz as Sushisamba, with which it shares the restaurant spaces in Heron Tower, but it should. I’ve been for a birthday meal, with friends and on dates and never been disappointed. This is innovative, exciting, posh British/European food which is best shared between the table, as at Sushisamba. It is also quite pricey but again it is worth it.
Particular highlights include the seafood dishes, the ox cheek doughnut (I’m craving one just thinking about it), the crispy pig’s ears if you like retro offal-style snacks, and the fried Mars Bar dessert for fun indulgence. Of course, you can’t not order the signature duck and waffle dish itself, where the sweetness of the waffle, the sauce poured over it and the greasiness of the duck all combine for ultra yummy noises. Waffle up your duck and you won’t regret it.
