When I visited: December 2007 and May 2013
Location: New York (several locations) – I visited Central Park South
Rating in the Michelin Guide: Not in the Guide
What to wear: Men – jeans or nice trousers and a shirt; women – jeans and a smart top or a smart dress
Ambience: Lots of different seating areas, low-key, fun
Course of the meal: Buttermilk pancakes with fresh strawberries
If I could change one thing: More personal service
Review:
Sarabeth’s is a key brunch venue in Manhattan where you can get pretty much any American food you fancy with copious sides and enormous portions. Perhaps sometimes the service isn’t super-personal as they are always busy, but you can rely on the tasty food and the wide selection which has something for everyone.
If you stop by here for an hour or so to sip mimosas with your pancakes (or kale salad if you are feeling virtuous) and then go for a wander around Central Park, you’ll be setting yourself up for a perfect New York day.
